Renewal & Return of Notarial Services
First and foremost: we are in the process of renewing our notarial commission and expect to be back fully operational in California as early as February 1, 2026. We can’t wait to resume serving the communities in Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe, Reno, and beyond — picking up where we left off last spring and building even stronger relationships with title, escrow, loan departments, and local partners.
What We Learned This Year
Even as experienced notaries, this past season taught us a lot:
- The importance of systematizing quality control across every document.
- That trust and transparency aren’t just legal requirements — they’re foundational to customer comfort and professional reputation.
- That modern tools and technologies can elevate notary work far beyond what’s been standard in the industry.
These lessons directly shaped the work we’ve been doing in R&D — especially around something we’re calling the Notary Score Kit (NSK).
Why the Notary Score Kit Matters
The idea behind the Notary Score Kit is simple but powerful:
- Documents are scanned and analyzed.
- Errors, inconsistencies, and risk vectors are detected using best-in-class tooling.
- A fact-based Notary Score is generated — not just flagging mistakes, but helping the notary and all downstream stakeholders understand how ready a document is for real-world compliance and acceptance.
We believe that a score does more than check a box — it provides an objective measure of document integrity and readiness that financial institutions, title companies, and clients can trust.
Innovating Beyond the Score
But the NSK isn’t just an AI scoring system.
We’ve also been exploring:
- How current digital platforms handle secure document creation and finalization.
- Approaches to document ownership tracking and authenticated digital originals.
- Early frameworks similar to blockchain style tracking — not for the sake of crypto buzzwords, but to help answer a real question: how many legitimate “original digital copies” exist and where are they at any given time?
This deeper work is still very much in development — and intentionally so. While we’re inspired by decentralized tracking methods and immutable ledgers, the real value for notaries and users comes from trustworthy, secure, and privacy-preserving systems.
The “Hard Sauce” — Privacy in AI
A core challenge in building any AI-driven product today is handling data responsibly and safely.
Part of why we’ve taken our time here is because getting data privacy right is non-negotiable — especially in legal and financial contexts.
Across the tech world, AI systems that fail to protect user data can quickly run into regulatory trouble or reputational damage. For example:

In 2026, we’re committed to:
- Re-establishing full notarial services in California, with expanded coverage in the Tahoe and Reno region.
- Continuing to refine the Notary Score Kit — not just as a scoring tool, but as a trusted partner for professional, compliant notarizations.
- Exploring secure document lifecycle features that help clients and partners track, verify, and trust every digital and physical notarial interaction.
